Note di degustazione
A new wine in the Pichon Baron's lineup, the 2022 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron Blanc, a pure Sémillon from vines grafted onto Cabernet-Sauvignon, reveals a delicate, complex bouquet of spring flowers, citrus confit and ripe pear. Medium to full-bodied and satiny, it's fleshy with an enrobing mid-palate, elegant acids and a long, pear-inflected finish. This is a nicely crafted Sémillon.

The first year for this cuvée, the 2022 Les Griffons De Pichon Baron Blanc checks in as 100% Semillon brought up all in used barrels for 8-9 months. It's an exotic white with notes of ripe citrus, pear, and stone fruits as well as honeyed flowers. This beautifully balanced, elegant white has good acidity, plenty of fruit, and outstanding length.
The 2022 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron Blanc is a maiden release from regrafted vines from a massal selection of Sémillon from Suduiraut on limestone soils, around 30% from new plantings. It has a pretty nose with clementine and pink grapefruit scents. The limestone imprimatur is tangible. The palate is well balanced and lightly spiced, with a brisk line of acidity and a slightly honeyed texture on the stem ginger-tinged finish. This is a fine addition to the line-up.
A new, tiny-production Pichon Baron white, using semillon grapes from the Sauternes estate of Suduiraut. Medium-bodied with sliced green mangoes, green apples and a salty undertone. Delicious finish with crushed stone at the end. Drink or hold.
