Full bottle 1,245 g. The fruit is sweet but there is just too much bitter extraction of what tastes like green pips and tannins. Green coffee beans. Something doesn’t quite come together here. Astringent tannins. It was a little more settled on the second day but I’d argue that this was not the best vintage for the wine. (TC)

The 2022 Il Carbonaione is a wild, exotic wine. Super-ripe black cherry, lavender, menthol and chocolate convey notable intensity. The 2022 is still recovering from bottling, and its elements don't seem fully melded together. Readers should plan on cellaring this for at least a few years.
