Cask sample. Light to mid crimson. Invitingly bright red fruits, red-cherry and raspberry freshness. Quite stemmy/herbal on the palate, giving a dry but finely tannic finish. Lightish on the mid palate but balanced in a slightly leaner style. I note that I scored this a whole point higher when I tasted it the following week chez Corney & Barrow and think my score here was probably too mean given how similar the notes are. (JH)

Cask sample. Juicy, lovely purity of dark-berry fruit with vibrant acidity to follow. Quite a bit of oak apparent but this will settle in a year or so. (AWH)
