2021 Chassagne Montrachet Blanchots Dessus

The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Blanchot de Dessus 1er Cru does not quite possess the complexity of Vincent Girardin's own "Blanchot" on the nose, though it is still delineated and focused with just a hint of candy floss infusing the citrus fruit. Underneath all that is a core of mineralité that should develop with time. The palate is well balanced with a tangy entry, fresh and focused with pleasing salinity. It gains depth towards the finish that feels complete and accomplished. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
