Note di degustazione
A white with pretty dried apple, lemon pear and some stone and mineral undertones. It’s tight and linear with a chewy finish. Shows structure and tension. Drink in 2021.

The 2018 Beaune Clos des Mouches Rouge 1er Cru easily boasts the best bouquet among Chanson’s red Beaune Premier Crus, offering well-defined blackberry and black plum fruit laced with cedar and undergrowth. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite deep and certainly voluminous, leading into a velvety- textured, lush finish. Drink over the next decade, possibly more.
Cask sample. Dark blackish garnet. Heady and introvert. Warm and rich but without much definition at the moment. This may just be a bit too ripe? There is power and weight but not much else at present. A little more freshness wouldn’t go amiss. Chewy, rather drying end. (JR)
