Pale, bright yellow. Aromas of pear, lemon and dusty stone, plus an element of vanillin oak. Rather rich Saint-Aubin, with sound acidity and firm underlying calcaire minerality enlivening its citrus and orchard fruit flavors. The label says 14% but this tactile, lightly saline wine has enough dusty buffering extract for balance. Finishes firm and persistent. I'd give this wine another year of bottle aging but I wouldn't lose it in the cellar.

Cask sample. 0.7 ha, very calcareous. Hint of oak on the nose and much more racy acidity than on the Charmois. Lean and lively with lots of stoniness on the end. (JR)
Pale yellow. Very ripe aromas of lemon oil and minerals convey an impression of calcaire energy. More taut and minerally in the mouth than the Charmois but still with the richness of the vintage to its lemon and crushed stone flavors. This rather backward, thick Saint-Aubin wine finishes with lovely citrussy lift and length.
