The 2015 Beaune 1er Cru Grèves Le Clos Blanc from Louis Jadot is superb, wafting from the glass with a youthfully reserved bouquet of yellow orchard fruit, Mirabelle plum, hazelnut and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with a generously textural attack, succulent acids, chewy concentration, and excellent length on the penetrating and lengthy finish. While this will be approachable in its youth, it has the structure and substance to age.

Superb richness of fruit with quite an exotic character of peaches and mangoes on the nose and palate. It delivered brightly-cut acidity that really sizzles on the finish. Beautiful richness and freshness here. Drink now.
(from flat clay-over-limestone soil at the bottom of Les Grèves): Bright light yellow. Discreet scents of white peach, pear, green apple, talc and stone. Juicy, shapely and pliant; at once sweeter and more tactile than the Bressandes, showing more early personality if not quite the same perfume or cut. Finishes with more pronounced lemony bitterness. This wine will need at least a couple years in bottle to knit.
Tank sample. Smoky nose and lots of weight on the palate. Relatively rich. Many a white burgundy lover would find this too sweet. (JR)
