Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2027-2050, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2025

Aromas of red berries, cherries and plums, lent relief by scents of spices and violets, Bonneau du Martray's 2022 Corton Grand Cru is medium to full-bodied, suave and lively, with refined tannins and a long, perfumed finish, it transcends what I would have thought possible for this bottling a decade ago. This saw 12 months in 228-liter barrels, followed by five months in 500-liter barrels that were previously used for white wine.

Punteggio 93+/100 · Da bere 2029-2042, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

The 2022 Corton Grand Cru is a powerful, dense wine. It is also incredibly closed today, much more so than when I tasted it from barrel. Dark red-toned fruit, leather, cedar and dried herbs add to an impression of gravitas. This includes a touch of whole clusters (3%), essentially one small tank done with carbonic maceration and aged in Wineglobe that is then blended into the rest of the wine. That’s enough to add notable aromatic and savory/peppery intensity but also introduces a fundamental question as to what is most important, an expression of place or style? In my view, the 2022 speaks more to the latter than the former. This spent twelve months in barrel, followed by five months in cask and one month in steel.
