Easily the finest second wine I've tasted from this château, the 2022 Prelude A Grand-Puy Ducasse is a smoking Pauillac sporting a dense purple hue as well as classic Pauillac notes of ripe currants, shaved lead pencils, leather, graphite, and crushed stone-like minerality. It's concentrated, medium-bodied, has plenty of mid-palate depth, and ripe, velvety, yet certainly present tannins. It's a much more upfront and approachable version of the Grand Vin, yet it brings serious character and depth. Give it a few years and enjoy bottles over the following two decades. Drink 2028-2048.

The 2022 Prelude à Grand Puy Ducasse is a rich, boisterous second wine. A blast of dark red fruit, leather, spice, licorice and blood orange makes a statement. This juicy Pauillac has a lot to offer.
Informazioni sul produttore

The 40 hectares of this Pauillac Fifth Growth are spread across three sites, pieced together in the 18th century by Pierre Ducasse. Today owned by France’s Crédit Agricole bank, they have some very fine vineyard land, with their northernmost plot neighbouring Mouton and Lafite.
