The 2016 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru has a crisp, rather conservative green apple and citrus lemon scented bouquet that might benefit from a tad more vigour. The palate is a little oaky on the entry with moderate depth, smooth and almost waxy in texture, though I would have liked more terroir expression and nervosité on the rather generic finish. Tasted blind at the BIVB Chablis tasting.

Impressive minerally accents here. This has a wealth of fragrant apples and poached peaches. The palate delivers good concentration and length. Deep melon, apples and pears here. A gently nutty warmth through the finish. Drink or hold.
