The 2021 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières saw extensive frost protection, so it retains a rather classic profile with just a hint of vintage-typical exotica inflecting its bouquet of citrus zest, white flowers, clear honey and iodine. Medium- to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, it's built around a tangy spine of acidity and concludes with a long, electric finish.

The 2021 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru is more expressive on the nose, with slightly riper fruit, orange pith and grapefruit scents, crushed limestone and more lime-driven aromas emerging with time. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp acidity, taut and linear, not as nuanced or as mineral driven as the previous wine with just a dab of sour lemon on the finish. Fine but it could be better. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
The 2021 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru is slightly deeper in colour than expected. The nose is well-defined, yet doesn't quite deliver the mineralité expected of this vineyard. The palate is defined by yellow fruit and marmalade on the entry, a touch of gingerbread with a tangy finish that doesn't really communicate the essence of Perrières. So-so.
