The 2021 Meursault Les Porusots 1er Cru has a very impressive bouquet with superb delineation, seamlessly integrated oak and hints of orange blossom and walnut emerging with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a silver thread of acidity keeping it on its toes. Just the right amount of spice enlivens and lengthens the finish, delivering the sapidity to tempt you back. All that you really want from a Meursault. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Meursault Les Porusots 1er Cru is one of the most backward and distant on the nose, despite rigorous coaxing. This only reluctantly unfolds in the glass. The palate is much more expressive with a touch of liquorice on the entry, blackcurrant leaf and citrus fruit, though I just want to see a little more Meursault DNA on the finish. Fine.
The 2021 Meursault 1er Cru Porusots unwinds in the glass with aromas of pear, crisp green apple, white flowers, toasted almonds and bread dough. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, it's a racy, vibrant wine, the cooler vintage tempering the somewhat open-knit profile that this climat sometimes displays.
