The 2021 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru clearly has plenty of reduction on the nose, although it soon dissipates to reveal a finely tuned, minerally marine-influenced nose that is alluring. The palate is fresh on the entry with a fine bead of acidity, quite zesty with a dab of lemongrass. I just feel that it becomes a little diffuse towards the finish so that as a consequence it misses some grip. I don't think this bottle was representative so I will not score this. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, which sees no new oak, has a wonderful bouquet with perfumed yellow fruit, beeswax and honeysuckle aromas. A hint of jasmine appears with time. The palate is very well balanced with pure citrus fruit. It's pretty linear at the moment though that should fill out in the second winter. There's fine tension from start to finish. The 2021 could be a killer CC.
