2001 Corton Les Marechaudes

(this wine was made entirely with whole clusters, and without any new oak): Medium red with an amber edge. Aromas of plum, truffle and earth accented by pepper and spices. Nothing primary about it but the texture is surprisingly silky. Flavors of kirsch and freshly turned earth are accented by pepper and spices. Finishes salty, dry and persistent, with slightly drying tannins. Drink this fully mature wine soon.
