Bright medium red. Lovely floral perfume lifts the crunchy fruit aromas of cherry, strawberry and raspberry. A complex vin de terroir , not particularly fat or sweet but with lovely juicy definition and intensity to the complex flavors of redcurrant, minerals, spices, dried rose, earth and celery seed. The fine-grained tannins reach the incisors. Light on its feet considering that production was a freakishly low five hectoliters per hectare due to the hailstorm.

Rich in fruit and fragrant with spice on the nose. Oak aromas too. Very dry and chalky on the palate. Not at all what I expected from the nose. Tough. Maybe it will come round but I'd expect better balance now. (JH)
(production here was just five hectoliters per hectare): Palish rim. Superripe aromas of raspberry, wild strawberry and flowers. Sweet and thick yet light on its feet, offering a very attractive blend of red fruits, spices, minerals and flowers. Very ripe, inviting wine with serious dusty tannins that reach the front teeth and noteworthy persistence. This will go truffley with bottle age.
The apparent freshness from stems is not enough to mitigate the soupy, apricot-jam flavours. Ungainly, chalky tannins on the finish. Very disappointing. (AH)
