Fleshy and gourmand, the 2018 Beaune 1er Cru Clos de la Mignotte exhibits aromas of sweet berry fruit, cherries and plums mingled with black truffle and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, charming and enveloping, with lively acids and a generous core of fruit, it's open and demonstrative.

The 2018 Beaune Clos de la Mignotte 1er Cru has a very engaging bouquet with black cherries, raspberry, touches of iodine and incense developing with time, almost Vosne-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. It tapers in toward the finish, suggesting that it is closing down in barrel. Very elegant.
A more elegant and more restrained nose flashes a mix of dark raspberry, plum, violet and similar earth nuances. The medium weight flavors aren’t quite as dense but they’re definitely more refined while offering a touch of minerality on the tension-filled and youthfully austere finale that isn’t quite as structured. Domaine Georges Noëllat, based in the village of Vosne-Romanée is today run by Maxime Cheurlin. Cheurlin took over the domaine in 2010 – aged just 20 – and has since transformed its reputation as one of the finest Burgundy wine producers.
