The 2019 Y offers up scents of fresh grapefruit, honeysuckle, and green apples, with suggestions of lime leaves and wet slate. Light to medium-bodied, the palate is crisp and vibrant with layers of citrus and mineral layers and a long chalky finish.

The 2019 Y de Yquem has an attractive nose with citrus peel and white tea. Touches of crushed stone develop with time. The palate is well-balanced with fine delineation, just a little oaky at the moment but there is sufficient fruit to soak that up, so afford this a couple of years in bottle. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.
Tasted blind. Lemon and lime zest on the nose. Masses of exuberant fruit – soars out of the glass with just a little RS but there’s enough acidity. Some will find this too sweet but not me. Long. (JR)
A linear and long Ygrec with sliced lemon, lemon sherbet and hints of lemon grass. Citrusy and flavorful. Finishes long and vertical. Very pretty and delicious. Very typical. Drink or hold.
