Note di degustazione
The 2019 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru is blessed with an intense and delineated nose. The oak is neatly assimilated, and some alcohol is evident, but there is incredible energy behind that. There is a Coche-like reduction at play, though it is deftly applied. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and linear, very nuanced and mineral-driven with a precise and persistent finish. Excellent. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

The 2019 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru is much more closed on the nose compared to the Les Charmes-Dessus, offering scents of lemon curd, patisserie, clementines and linseed oil. Quite complex but tightly wound. The palate is well balanced with impressive depth. There is a lot of concentration and richness here, though the acidity effortlessly counterbalances this. Ginger and light rhubarb notes toward the long finish complete an excellent Genevrières.
