Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2028-2053, Jeb Dunnuck, Mar 2026

With roughly 910 cases produced, the 2023 Château Pibran is based on 54% Cabernet Sauvignon and 46% Merlot and aged 18 months in 40% new French oak. Spicy red and black fruits, cedar pencil, graphite, and nicely integrated background oak all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied and concentrated, with ripe, polished tannins, solid mid-palate depth, and an outstanding finish. It has a classic, very rich, layered style that should offer 30 years of prime drinking. Drink 2028-2053.

The 2023 Pibran is such a charming wine. Crushed flowers, bright red-toned fruit and silky tannins grace this understated, classy Pauillac. The balance here is all finesse. Delicate, aromatic and very nicely lifted, Pibran is a winner in 2023.

The 2023 Pibran has a fragrant nose with crushed stone infusing the mainly black fruit. Quite focused and well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins, granular in texture, with moderate weight. Bright, graphite-infused black fruit toward the finish, this is a fine Pibran that should offer 12 to 15 years' drinking pleasure.

The 2023 Château Pibran is beautiful, with a lively fresh, yet concentrated style. Cassis, ripe black cherries, graphite, and violet notes all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with a lively, elegant mouthfeel and finely polished tannins. A beautiful Pauillac from this team, it should drink nicely with just short-term cellaring.
