The 2021 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile de Vergelesses is lovely, wafting from the glass with aromas of sweet red berries and cherries mingled with orange zest, warm spices and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, with good concentration and a bright, vibrant profile, this will repay some bottle age.

Based in Pernand-Vergelesses, the Rapet family has been involved in wine since at least the 18th century. The property owns 20 hectares of vines around and on the hill of Corton. Vincent and Sylvette are at the helm today, with their son Robin now working alongside them.
