2022 Batard Montrachet

As is to be expected, Van Canneyt’s Bâtard-Montrachet is rich and opulent, with a precise, aromatic nose. The palate is vibrant with a muscular tension – almost electric acidity balances the buttery mid-palate exquisitely, which retains ripe citrus fruit and delicate spice notes. The long, saline finish adds an extra layer of depth. It needs time to be approachable, but this is built to age decades. Just one barrel was made.
