(farmed organically; 100% destemmed; 15% new oak): Good medium red. A cherry-raspberry bomb on the nose and palate. Fresh, juicy wine with firm acidity and lovely fruit. The wine's slightly dusty tannins should not stand in the way of early gulpability.

The 2015 Bourgogne Rouge was completely destemmed and sees 10% new oak. The palate is well balanced with chewy red berry fruit on the entry, cranberry and wild strawberry, although I would like to see a little more flesh form towards the finish by the time of bottling.
From the lieu-dit Les Longbois at the bottom of Volnay and two other parcels between Volnay and Meursault east of the RN74. No whole bunch and 10% new oak. Fresh, young grape juice on the nose. Bitter cherries and lively. With a sweet finish. Polished tannins. Pretty and spicy. (JR)

Volnay’s Domaine de Montille is one of the most historic in the Côte d’Or. Founded in 1730, the property remains family-owned and run, with Etienne de Montille – the ninth generation – at the helm today.
