Note di degustazione
The Drouhins only managed to harvest 5hl/ha in this site in 2021, so 2022’s more generous yields were very welcome – although there’s less white than red this year. This is a fascinating wine – offering hints of what is to come, with flashes of ripe fruit. It’s closed currently, but you can feel the firm structure, weight and mineral power to the wine, with pithy character and orchard fruit. Needs time to relax and lose its blocky youth – but lots of potential.

Aromas of buttered orchard fruit, orange blossom, baking spices and toasted nuts introduce the 2022 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc (Domaine), with a medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny palate that's fleshy and layered while retaining nice tension and cut. The Drouhin's seven hectares of Chardonnay in this premier cru were harvested over 15 days.
