Note di degustazione
Made with 25% whole-bunch fermentation, this is full of sweet fruit – strawberries and cherries. It manages to offer a mouthful that is crunchy and smooth – combining bright, juicy acidity and fine tannins that wrap around the tongue seamlessly. There’s a twist of darker bramble fruit and minerality, building towards a long, liquorice-edged finish.

The 2022 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches (Domaine) is shaping up beautifully, revealing aromas of sweet cherries, cassis, licorice and spices deftly framed by toasty new oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, with a fleshy core of fruit, succulent acids and powdery tannins, the Drouhin's own fully 14 hectares of this prime premier cru, which is divided equally between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Very clean, elegant and lots of promise on the nose. Fleshy fruit, purity of flavour but underpinned with vibrant acidity. Quite a bit of weight and spice here. Give it 6 months in bottle to settle and it will be very good. Expensive. (AWH)
