Note di degustazione
This is a legendary Beaune Premier Cru and Bouchard de-classifies the youngest vines, meaning the average age of those used for the wine is 40. It’s a really impressive result in 2022 – with generous cherry fruit, a spicy intensity and herbaceous freshness. Rich and vibrant with peppery notes and that herbal edge, there’s a peony lift to the finish. Fine, chalky tannins frame the fruit, which is much denser than the Clos de la Mousse Premier Cru tasted alongside. Deliciously fresh and effortlessly balanced.

Cask sample. Mid to light crimson. Both dark and bright-red fruits, a bass and a top note. Dry, super-fine tannins. Moderate fruit intensity and elegant rather than powerful overall. Sober not seductive for now. (JH)
The 2022 Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant Jesus is lovely, wafting from the glass with aromas of blackberries, spices, violets and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, broad and enveloping, with a fleshy attack that segues into a refined, mineral palate and a saline finish, it's a benchmark for the appellation.
