Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2018-2040, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Nov 2016

Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very composed bouquet with fine delineation, bright redcurrant and cranberry fruit, later hints of dried blood and potpourri. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, gentle and yet harmonious with gorgeous mulberry and red plum fruit, underneath which lies very fine mineralité. With great length to boot, this is an excellent Latricières from Rossignol-Trapet. Tasted September 2016.

Medium red. High-toned, expressive aromas of redcurrant, red cherry and spices, plus hints of peppery herbs and menthol. Surprisingly supple and sweet in the mouth; in fact, this wine comes across as almost soft after the Petite Chapelle and seems lower in acidity than the vintage would suggest. A saline nuance adds interest to this very silky wine. Finishes with smooth, fine-grained tannins and good length. This fruit was picked very late--on October 11 or 12, according to Nicolas Rossignol.

50% whole bunch. Heady and hedonistic. Very mouthfilling and an attractive blend of weight and flirtatiousness. Firm finish but all should come into balance before that long. (JR)
