The 2010 Roero Riserva Ròche d'Ampsèj represents one of the more important wines from Matteo Correggia, clothed in slightly more oak than the others.

The flagship 2010 Roero Riserva Roche d'Ampsèj is a bit softer and less explosive than it often is, but that also means the wine will be ready to drink sooner rather than later. Black cherries, plums, smoke, tobacco, leather and licorice meld together on the soft finish.
Nebbiolo aged for 22 months in new oak. Distinct and concentrated Nebbiolo fruit on the nose. Tangy cherry fruit with the oak adding complexity. Finely grained tannins and quite intense for Nebbiolo, yet convincing. (WS)
Concentrated ruby with orange tinges. Lots of oak and a hint of leather. Fairly lean, mid-bodied palate with oak dominating the fruit, at least for the moment. (WS)
