Cask sample. Ripe and plump on the nose, some real fleshiness. Although a big and ripe wine it doesn’t lack for zippy freshness. A nice hint of smokiness. An impressive wine – showy yet still elegant. (AC)

The 2018 Meursault Blagny 1er Cru, matured in 25% new oak, offers intense, mineral-rich stone fruit aromas, touches of candle wax and lime developing in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with a slightly tangy opening, hints of marmalade and quince and a well-defined, focused, lightly spiced hazelnut finish that lingers in the mouth. Excellent.
