The 2018 Santenay Clos des Gravières Blanc 1er Cru had a taut, quite backward bouquet at the time of my visit, but you can tell it is a coiled spring that will become more expressive once racked. The palate is very saline on the entry and quite harmonious, revealing hints of fresh asparagus and gooseberry toward the finish. An intriguing white Santenay.
