Ripe black cherries, currants, chocolaty oak, spice, and iron nuances all emerge from the 2020 Château La Fleur Morange, a richly textured, concentrated 2020 with building tannins and a great finish. It has plenty of opulence and density but enough tannins to warrant 4-5 years of bottle age. It's another terrific wine from this estate that's located down on the lower plains of Saint-Emilion.
Full bottle 1,340 g. Cask sample. 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc. Dark crimson. Sappy and savoury on the nose. Then luscious fruit on palate entry but with drive, bright fruit and energy, and not a little tannin. Surely very representative of the vintage? Quite a bite on the persistent finish for now. Grown-up wine. (JR)
