2019 Chablis Les Clos

The 2019 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru is harmonious on the nose with yellow plum, jasmine and Crustacea scents that are all beautifully defined. The oak here is cleverly used. On the palate, there is a lot of peppery, spicy notes, ginger and lemongrass that crowd out terroir expression and like Droin’s Chablis Les Clos, detract from typicité. Not unenjoyable, but will it evolve into something more enthralling with age? Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
