The 2015 Chianti Classico is gorgeous. Dark cherry, plum, lavender, spice and leather are nicely pushed forward in this attractive, supple Chianti Classico. The ripeness of the year comes through nicely, but without distorting the wine's very classic, midweight feel. Although quite ripe, the 2015 retains striking minerality and salinity.

Rocca di Montegrossi's 2015 Chianti Classico shows depth and good complexity. The bouquet is expansive and bright with black cherry notes followed by grilled herb, rose and crushed mineral. The blend is 90% Sangiovese, 6% Canaiolo and 4% Colorino. It is aged in large oak casks for 15 months. Some 50,000 bottles were produced.
