Note di degustazione
45% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1.7% Petit Verdot. Mid ruby with lots of rust at the rim. Very mellow nose, even losing a bit of force. Just a slightly rusty edge and no tannins left at all. Starting to dry out and fairly light but with the imprint of warm bricks still, if fading. (JR)

The new second wine of La Mission-Haut-Brion, Chapelle-Haut-Brion, is a worthy addition to the Dillon family's portfolio. The 1995 is a sleeper, and one of the better second wines of this vintage. It comes across as more extracted than the 1996, but offers a lovely, rich, medium-bodied, well-endowed personality. The wine reveals much of the character of La Mission-Haut-Brion in its sweet berry fruit intertwined with smoke, tobacco, and roasted herbs. Round, spicy, and generous, with no hard edges, it will provide ideal drinking over the next 7-8 years.
