Punteggio 87/100 · Da bere 2023-2031, Neal Martin, Feb 2022

The 2019 La Fleur Peyrabon seems to have evolved a more nuanced and less opulent bouquet of black cherries, cigar smoke and light undergrowth scents. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, maybe just a bit rough around the edges but displaying a little more cohesion on the finish. Fine, but short term.

The 2019 La Fleur Peyrabon has quite a high-toned bouquet for a Pauillac: iodine infusing the black fruit, touches of mint in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rustic tannins, saline in the mouth with a touch of leather towards the finish. Fine, but long term?

A tight, linear red with blackberry and blueberry aromas and flavors. It’s medium-to full-bodied with very polished tannins.

A strong and bold nose with liquorice, black cherries and a hint of cloves. Textured and nuanced on the palate, this is a bold wine, full of intensity and power but also with underlying freshness. It's generous and juicy with tannins that grip and coat the entire mouth. This certainly needs more time, but I love the confidence here. It's upfront with presence and just needs time to integrate.
