The 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Les Boucherottes (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) was showing especially well, mingling aromas of raspberries and plums with hints of rose hips, raw cocoa and spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, it's bright and precise, with a charming, seamless profile.

The 2019 Beaune Boucherottes 1er Cru showed a little reduction on the nose, unlike other Beaune Premiers from Jadot. The palate displays good density and more black fruit than the Clos des Couchereaux, and nice grip, if just needing a little more complexity and mineralité to show through. Give this 18–24 months once in bottle. It’s a bit "serious" at the moment.
Cask sample. Bright, healthy garnet. There’s some real depth on the nose here – sweet fruit but savour too. Fine tannins are subsumed by fruit. Real raciness and life. Bright fruit and good balance with quite enough acidity. Medium length. (JR)

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
