For a second wine, this is exceptional. I had to do a double-take, checking I had the right glass, such is the elegance and purity captured here. The wine has supremely silky tannins and impressive concentration. There is lovely mouth-watering freshness and explosive juiciness to the “gourmand” mid-palate. The wine has great balance and a long finish. A portion (8%) is being aged in amphora, and some (10%) in foudre, with the rest in barrique. Blend: 88% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc

The 2022 Blason De L'Evangile is rock-solid, with a charming, forward, undeniably delicious style. Red and black fruits, truffly earth, spice, and savory flowers all define the aromatics, and it’s medium to full-bodied, has a pure, silky mouthfeel, and no hard edges. Drink bottles any time over the coming 10-12 years.
88% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc. Cask sample. Timid nose but juicy on the palate, the tannins offering a certain rigour. Slight glow of alcohol on the finish. (JL)
The 2022 Blason de l'Evangile offers up aromas of dark berries, cherries and rose petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, suave, supple and seamless palate. This charming, fruit-driven Pomerol will drink well young.
