Note di degustazione
A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, Angélus’s second wine Carillon is fresh and bright in 2022. It has pinpoint fruit and an appealing vibrancy. There’s the scent of lifted florals and minerality, giving a sense of weightlessness to the wine that is impressive.

The 2022 Le Carillon d'Angélus has a soft and slightly squidgy nose, redcurrant and strawberry fruit, open-knit and thankfully gaining delineation in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet core of red fruit, a keen line of acidity with just a little tartness on the graphite-tinged finish. Fine. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.
Based on Merlot from the cool, clay-limestone terroirs of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, the 2022 Le Carillon d'Angélus offers up aromas of sweet berries, plums, orange zest, cigar wrapper and creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, it's deep and dense, with lively acids, sweet tannins and a gently lactic finish.
