The 2017 Chablis Montmain 1er Cru displays more ripeness on the nose compared to Jean-Claude Bessin's, touches of peach skin and pineapple emerging with aeration. The palate is ripe and slightly candied on the entry, although the richness is counterbalanced by a fine line of acidity. What it lacks is a little tension on the finish; otherwise this is perfectly fine. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune.

Soft and silky, Pinson's 2017 Chablis Montmain 1er Cru is a very pretty and expressive wine that will drink nicely with minimal cellaring. Chamomile, crushed flowers, hazelnut, marzipan, spice and lemon confit inform a Chablis that is a model of sensuality and grace.
Aromas of lemon oil, white flowers and almond paste introduce the 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains, a medium to full-bodied, satiny-textured wine that's a little drying on the finish.
Very vibrant peaches and nectarines with yellow citrus fruit and notes of fresh, sliced mango and some savory, nutty elements. The palate has a very smoothly composed feel with good acidity, holding peach and light honey flavors in tight. Drink or hold.
