Note di degustazione
Aromas of cherries, berries, grilled squab and orange rind preface the 2018 Pommard En Brescul, a medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated wine built around succulent acids and youthfully chewy tannins that will round out with further élevage in Lignier's cold cellars. In this parcel, acquired a few years ago, Laurent battles a badger ("blaireau" in French, for readers that are wondering) that digs holes and eats grapes.

The 2018 Pommard En Brescul comes from vines close to Beaune that Laurent Lignier purchased in 2014. It has a broody nose of dark berry fruit intermixed with light brine and limestone aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, quite poised and pretty. There is an impressive sense of tension and precision on the finish. Worth seeking out.
