The 2014 Long Now is striking. Specifically, the 2014 impresses with an interplay of dark fruit and bright acidity that is super intriguing. Persistent and delineated in the glass, the 2014 speaks to finesse above all else. Dark cherry, plum, rose petal and sweet spice notes abound in this alluring, mid-weight edition of Long Now, Giorgio Pelissero's 50% Barbera and 50% Nebbiolo.

The 2014 Long Now, Pelissero's Barbera/Nebbiolo blend, is superb. Deep, intense Barbera fruit takes center stage in this release. Graphite, smoke, licorice, blackberry jam and dark spices emerge from the 2014, a wine that is rich and unctuous yet also linear in structure. Giorgio Pelissero won't bottle the 2014 until 2017, but even today, it is striking and also highly promising. It will be interesting to see how the 2014 responds to the last phase of aging.
