Note di degustazione
The 2019 Valandraud Blanc has quite a generous nose, creamy new oak combining nicely with the slightly nutty yellow fruit. The palate is well-balanced with a powerful entry, rounded, quite spicy with just a touch of heat on the finish that just gives it a kick. Very fine, but I encountered superior bottles in the past. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

Tasted blind. Light nose. Racy and almost spritzig. Lots of green vegy flavour and lots of grip. Quite textural. Long and confident. Just a little warm on the very end. But lots of pleasure. (JR)
Another gorgeous white from this team, the 2019 Château Valandraud Blanc sports a light gold hue as well as brilliant aromatics of fresh melon, subtle pineapple, white flowers, and beautiful, clean minerality. This carries to a more medium to full-bodied white that builds gradually with time in the glass, offering bright acidity, a terrific, concentrated mid-palate, remarkable purity of fruit, and a great finish. It's a stunning Bordeaux Blanc that's up with the crème de la crème of the vintage.
A rich, textural wine evocative of confit citrus, yellow orchard fruit and buttery pastry, the 2019 Valandraud Blanc is medium to full-bodied, layered and enveloping, with a sweet core of fruit and lively acids despite its rather fat, gourmand profile.
Informazioni sul produttore

One of the first garage wines, Ch. Valandraud was created by Jean-Luc Thunevin – Saint-Emilion’s “bad boy”. Today the style of the wine is much more restrained, and officially classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé B estate.
