Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 1995-2015, Robert Parker, Aug 1995

The Corton Les Bressandes possesses the finest depth, as well as more muscle and tannin than Cornu's other 1993 offerings. It may merit an outstanding rating in 5-6 years if the tannin fades and the fruit holds. There is medium to full body, an excellent, vanilla and cherry-scented nose, admirable depth and purity, and well-integrated tannin. My instincts suggest the wine will be long-lived - say 15-20 years. In 1993, the Cornu family, in what are usually difficult appellations, admirably succeeded in turning out harmonious, sweet, richly fruity wines that possess the stuffing necessary to stand up to the vintage's tannin. Moreover, Cornu's offerings include some excellent values. Except for Cornu's Corton Les Bressandes, his vineyard holdings are in modest appellations. Nevertheless, he turns out better and better wines by keeping yields moderate and not overly processing the wines. Recent vintages have included strong efforts in 1989 and 1990. I should also note that Cornu's 1985 Corton Les Bressandes is living up to my high expectations. Importer: Neal Rosenthal, Select Vineyards, Shekomeko, NY; tel. (800) 910-1990
