Full bottle a heavy 1,503 g. Transparent, shaded ruby. Some obvious evolution on the nose here. Nicely mature with a very slightly, but not off-putting, rustic undertow. Lively, mature wine that's true to its origins. Juicy, fresh and well balanced. This could be drunk with or without food but definitely shouldn't be served too warm. (JR)

Mid crimson. Perfectly ripe red fruit, both sweet and fragrant. Tangy, lively and just the right firmness of tannins for the fruit. More savoury on the finish. Great harmony and GV . (JH)
Notions of ripe plums, berries, loamy soil and licorice introduce the 2017 Maranges 1er Cru La Fussière, a medium to full-bodied, velvety wine with rich structuring tannins, a succulent core of fruit and juicy balancing acids. Pure and long on the finish, this hails from soils richer in clay and correspondingly more gourmand than the Clos de la Boutière.
