Note di degustazione
The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru La Dominode (Domaine Louis Jadot) is excellent, offering up aromas of raspberries and plums mingled with sweet spices, woodsmoke and raw cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, with lively acids and a long, penetrating finish, it's seamless and complete. It's another fine rendition of a cuvée that's regularly among the domaine's high points.

The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune La Dominode 1er Cru shows quite a bit of new oak on the nose (35%) but that will be intergrated with time. The palate is more cohesive than the Clos des Guettes, fresh and quite saline, just a nice touch of bitterness with good depth on the finish. This works well but it needs 2-3 years in bottle.
18 months in oak but rarely any new. Cask sample. Deep crimson. Aroma is darker-fruited than the Rochegrès Moulin-à-Vent just tasted, but still dark red and still that attractive rocky note. Opens to lovely scent, lightly floral, more red-fruited. Very expressive as it opens. Really juicy and mouth-watering. Vibrant fruit and great freshness. Tannins are fine, layers of tissue paper, perfectly framing all that lovely fruit. Long, too. I could drink this now. (JH)

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
