Note di degustazione
A broad-shouldered, powerful wine, the 2018 Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens delivers aromas of ripe plums, orange rind, sweet spices and cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, layered and rich, with an ample core of ripe fruit and velvety structuring tannins, it's the largest-scaled wine in the range this year.

The 2018 Pommard Les Rugiens 1er Cru has an engaging classic bouquet with raspberry, wild strawberry, sous-bois and blood orange that all blossom with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins, beautifully interwoven tannins, seamless in texture with veins of blue fruit towards the long finish. What a fabulous Pommard from the Domaine - this comes highly recommended. Vrai Pommard!
The 2018 Pommard Les Rugiens 1er Cru comes from 0.25 hectares of vine planted in 1959. It probably boasts the most harmonious and nuanced bouquet from the domaine, featuring lovely brambly red berry fruit, sous-bois and hints of morels. The palate is very cohesive with supple tannins, pitch-perfect acidity, a surfeit of refinement and a satin-textured finish that is one of the best I have encountered from the domaine. You will not find a Rugiens better than this in 2018.
