Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2025-2050, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2021

Aromas of sweet berries, plums, dark chocolate and loamy soil introduce the 2018 Pommard 1er Cru Les Epenots, a medium to full-bodied, layered and enveloping wine with an elegantly gourmand core of fruit that largely conceals its fine structuring tannins. This is a definite success.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2023-2038, Neal Martin, Dec 2020

The 2018 Pommard Les Epenots 1er Cru, matured in 30% new oak, has a ripe and generous bouquet with mulberry, blackberry jam and light figgy notes that subsided to reveal more mineralité with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, vibrant red fruit laced with balsamic, firmly structured towards the finish that suggests it will need a couple more years in bottle. Classic Pommard.

Bottled. Light cherry red with a healthy glow. Rich, sweet, marrons glacés nose. Here the opulence of the fruit almost masks the tannic structure (cf the village Pommard) but it should reward ageing. Proper representative of its climat. (JR)

Punteggio 91-93/100 · Da bere 2022-2040, Neal Martin, Jan 2020

The 2018 Pommard les Epenots 1er Cru comes from 0.17 hectare of vines planted in 1961. Raspberry, wild strawberry and briar storm from the glass with great intensity, signifying a Pommard determined to make an impression. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and fine acidity, more refined and understated than the nose but showing impressive harmony and tension on the finish. This is a beautifully crafted Pommard.
