The 2020 Pernand-Vergelesses Clos de la Croix de Pierre shows a little more reduction than the Combottes, nicely focused, notes of Nashi pear and citrus peel, a touch of cold stone. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, quite taut and tightening up towards the finish where it needs a little more flesh. Maybe that will develop during the remainder of it élevage? Closure: Diam
Cask sample. Deep aroma of citrus, stone dust and very light herbal note, pear drop too. Creamy and fresh but not particularly concentrated in the middle. Long more than deep on the palate, I thought, but it deepens on second sip. Actually quite powerful. Fresh, long, stony finish. Really long. Takes time to reveal itself. (JH)

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
