Note di degustazione
Unwinding in the glass with rich aromas of cassis, cherries, grilled meats, warm spices and dark chocolate, the 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is full-bodied, powerful and muscular, with a tightly wound and indeed youthfully primary core of fruit that's underpinned by a firm chassis of powdery structuring tannin and lively acids. It's a deep and complete wine, but it will require considerable patience.

The 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru comes from the lieu-dit of Les Grand Maupertui (the same as Anne Gros). Matured in 50% new oak with 50% whole bunch, it has a perfumed bouquet of incense and rose petal scents filtering through the brambly red fruit. The medium-bodied palate offers firm, grippy tannins. A little saline in style, with a powerful, almost burly finish that will require several years just to smooth down its edges.
