The 2019 Chevalier-Montrachet Clos de Chevalier Grand Cru has an attractive nose with peach Melba, honeycomb, hints of aniseed and tangerine. It shouldn't work, but the aromas complement each other, and it never strays too far away from the Grand Cru in question. The palate is well balanced with a viscous opening, the acidity lending tension along the way. This is harmonious, but it’s missing that knockout punch on the finish. It sashays with style, yet doesn't quite hit the intellectual bullseye. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Scents of pear, white flowers, fresh pastry and orange oil introduce the 2019 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru Clos des Chevaliers, a full-bodied, lively and incisive wine that's tightly wound and serious, with fine depth at the core and a long, chalky finish. This is very promising.
The 2019 Chevalier-Montrachet Clos de Chevaliers Grand Cru has a very strict and linear nose, crushed stone and dewy Granny Smith apples, touches of flint coming through with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a silver bead of acidity, hints of blackcurrant leaf with a gentle, lilting finish. One of the prettiest Clos de Chevaliers that I have tasted from Chartron. Delightful.
