Aromas of plums, wild berries, warm spices and cherries preface the 2020 Chorey-lès-Beaune Les Bons Ores, a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy wine that's textural and giving, with a deep core of fruit and ripe, powdery tannins.

Partly picked early and partly late, averaging out at 14%. Incredibly rich purple in colour. Inkily powerful I note as Jean-Pierre offers the opinion that this is vin digeste, and I am worried that he is losing the thread as I see the power more than the digestibility. Black fruit, powerful raspberry, a touch volatile as well as saline. But perhaps more saline. Not digeste though. Tasted: November 2021
Here the expressive nose is similar though with a floral top note and more evident earth. Once again, the medium weight flavors possess a fleshy and appealing texture before culminating in an equally rustic and ever-so-mildly warm finale. (87-89)/2024+
